Journal Relevance Factors

This will be a list of some of the top critical care journals, with their Impact Factors, Scimago Journal Rank (more robust than IF) and H-index. IF (from Clarivate) and SJR (from Scopus) are released yearly, around June/July, whereas H-index is continuously updated. This tool auto-checks for updates once a week. If you have any journals you’d like to see on here, get in touch.

About these metrics:

Impact Factor (IF) measures the average number of citations received per paper published in a journal during the preceding two years, published annually by Clarivate’s Journal Citation Reports.

Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) reflects both the number and prestige of citations a journal receives, weighting citations from more influential journals more heavily. Journals are classified into Quartiles (Q1–Q4), with Q1 representing the top 25 % of journals in a category.

H-index quantifies both productivity and citation impact — a journal (or researcher) has an H-index of h if it has published h papers each cited at least h times. See Wikipedia: H-index for further details.

Abbreviations: IF = Impact Factor; SJR = Scimago Journal Rank; Q = Quartile ranking (Q1 best → Q4 lowest); H-index = Hirsch Index.
