Research use only — not for clinical decisions. Internally developed and internally cross-validated only. The lactate + PaCO₂ pair was selected after screening multiple candidates, so external / temporal validation and optimism correction are required before any clinical use.
IOI = mechanical power ÷ P:F ratio. VCV uses simplified Gattinoni; PCV uses simplified Becher (peak pressure). P:F computed in kPa; Vt taken in mL. The standalone CO₂ term (x_PACO2) uses the same PaCO₂. Marker position = Age/IOI/Days; marker colour = full model score (incl. Lactate + PaCO₂).
