Sterile ultrasound probe cover
Sterile ultrasound gel (if not already in the probe cover)
Needle-free injection ports x4-5 (aka Posi-flow, Bionector, etc)
Drugs
Chlorhexidine 2% skin prep
0.9% Sodium Chloride ampoules, 20mL
Lidocaine (1% or 2%) if patient awake (no adrenaline)
Post-Procedure
Clean, tidy, sutured, dressed, flushed
Notes
Ultrasound guidance is mandatory under all modern society guidelines.
Maintain strict surgical sterility at all times.
Be alert for complications (arterial puncture, pneumothorax, malposition)
Never lose track of the guidewire.
