  • Scalpel, 22 blade (acceptable substitutes 10 blade, 23 blade)

  • Tube-clamps x2
• Chlorhexidine 2%, 100mL bottle (lesser strengths are not ideal)
• Lignocaine 1% with adrenaline, 10mL
• Intercostal catheter 28F or 32F (or 36-38F if very bloody)
• Underwater seal
• Water, sterile, 500mL pour-bottle

Medications

• Fentanyl 200mcg
• Ketamine 200mg
• IV normal saline 1000mL (as a drug-line)
• IV fluid giving set with hand-pump (‘blood line’)
